As a visual artist, I try hard to create works of art, that convey the messages of empowerment, history, and awareness utilizing social justice issues in the media as well as cultural and personal exploration.

 

My process consists of research into my chosen topic to gain inspiration and to ultimately begin creating a piece. It is meant to be provocative. People need not only to see my work but to experience it.

 

My influences come from history and African-American artists that came before me, such as Aaron Douglas, Augusta Savage, and Barbara Jones-Hogu as they have paved the way for me as a young African-American visual artist.
